Michael Taub, 66, dies

Columbus, OH — Michael Taub, 66, of Boynton Beach, Fla., died July 25, 2020. He had been struggling with health issues for the past seven months.

Mr. Taub was a successful Standadbred trainer for nearly 50 years. It was his entire world. Originally from Middletown, N.Y., he raced and won numerous races at all East coast tracks. A regular at The Meadowlands from its opening in 1976, his favorite horses were Fixed Assets, Franco Catapult N, Decafe, Ribb and many others.

He stabled in New Jersey for many years and his friends always referred to him as a great guy with a grand smile who always was willing to help others. He will be missed by all.

He is survived by his sisters, Lisa Bernstein and Susan Taub Hughes; nieces and nephew, Julie, Robert, Kaylie Hughes and Abbe Hughes; and grand-nephew, Antonio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martyn and Ida.
