Milby triples on Wednesday at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — Frank Milby had a driving triple and stole the show with his own trainee Artic Adventure on the Wednesday night (March 13) card at Rosecroft.

A six-time winner in his brief 14 start 3-year-old season, the son of Bettor’s Delight cut fractions of :26.3, :54.3, and 1:22.4, yielded briefly to the slight favorite Sam McSmith and driver Sean Bier, only to find more down the stretch for a win in 1:52.1. Sent off as the second choice he returned $5.60 for owner Candy Milby.

Milby and trainer Jeff Clark teamed up for a pair of victories. Gracefullyforgiven rallied from sixth with a huge three-wide brush to win in 1:55.1. Clark co-owns the mare with David Clark. Clark’s partnership with Vernon Cannon has produced a lot of wins through the years and Wednesday night Psychic Blue Chip won for the pair in 1:54.3.

Bier had a double, winning with Yankee Artillery for Christine Crissman-Bier and Bad Man Sam for Donald Leager and trainer Jason Bowers. It was career win 41 for the Badlands Hanover 11-year-old gelding Bad Man Sam.

Trainer Megan Tolson picked up a pair of wins as heavy favorites Pop Writer (Ricky Still) and Judge Bob (Wayne Long) scored victories. The latter picked up $43,000 in his 2-year-old season but had a promising sophomore season cut down to two starts due to injury. Long patiently waited with a rally from deep in the pack to win four-wide off the final turn for a new mark of 1:58.3.
