Morairtime repeats at Dover

Dover, DE — Morairtime recorded a second consecutive victory in the $20,000 Open Trot at Dover Downs, wiring male company in a blistering 1:52.3 on Tuesday night (Feb. 23).

Driver Jack Parker Jr. took advantage of a short field of five and sent Morairtime to the top. The 5-year-old daughter of Airzoom Lindy set uncontested fractions of :27.3, :56.1 and 1:24.2. Just past three-quarters, favorite Northern Express pulled the pocket to challenge, but made an untimely break turning for home. Morairtime coasted home to a 4-1/2-length victory. Bluebird Jesse (Tim Tetrick) saved ground and inherited second after Northern Express broke stride; Need Luck N (Kim Vincent) finished third.

Victor Kirby won three races on the program.

Racing at Dover Downs resumes Wednesday (Feb. 24) at 4:30 p.m. On Thursday, the track will offer a $5,000 guaranteed pool in their 50-cent Pick-5, which begins in the 10th race and carries a 15 percent takeout.
