Goshen, NY — The Harness Racing Museum has partnered with the Harness Horse Youth Foundation to help promote the sport of harness racing during the World Equestrian Games at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

It is the first time the Games, which take place once every four years, have been held outside Europe. This weekend will be the last opportunity to visit the 2010 Games in Lexington.

The Standardbred presence has been noticeable at the Games with driving presentations by the Youth Foundation and in a marquee in the Equine Village manned by Museum personnel and volunteers.

Located by the main entrance, the tent has been well attended by almost all visitors who have passed by the presentation. Harness racing promotional literature has been dispensed by Museum staff member Joanne Young, supported by Museum members Richard Stone, Curby Stillings and Tom Young who have all volunteered their time to help introduce the sport to people visiting the Games.

A backdrop of a harness racing scene together with hands-on activities and a large screen television, playing the best harness races of 2009, has been drawing impressive crowds.

The Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame is located at 240 Main Street in Goshen, New York and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last tour 4 p.m.) Thanks to USTA support the Museum is currently offering free admission for walk-in visitors and $4.00/person for group docent-guided tours.
