Next Generation drawn at Scioto Downs

Columbus, OH — Saturday (May 23) Eldorado Scioto Downs held the draw for participants in the Next Generation pace for 2-year-old Ohio-bred pacers. Nominations to the event, at $10,000 each, were due March 15.

There was an over subscription for both the colt and filly divisions. Both have a maximum of nine starters, which resulted in Saturday’s draw.

The draw was scheduled to be held on opening weekend, May 9, but with the delay of the start of the racing season, it was held the first Saturday of live racing.

The winners of the 2-year-old filly draw are: Dana Parham, William Hartt, Frank Chick, Spring Haven Farm, Matt Rowe, Weaver Bruscemi, TheStable.ca, Alagna/Bell/Ruggles and Trish Foulk.

The winners of the 2-year-old colt draw are: Daniel Hale, Dana Parham, Weaver Bruscemi, Bluestreak Boys Stable, Matt Rowe, TheStable.ca, LeVan Stable, Black Magic Racing and Trish Foulk.

The races will be held on Saturday (July 4) with an estimated purse for each division of $150,000.

Nominations to the event did not require the nominator to designate a horse in March; the horse is declared at the time of entry. Owners of the slot may trade, sell or give away entries after Saturday until the time of declaration for the event. Any entry that changes hands must be submitted in writing by both parties to Scioto Downs. Trainers, owners and stables are limited to one starter.
