Pacing colts vie in Ohio Sires Stakes Saturday at Scioto Downs

Columbus, OH – Two, $50,000 divisions of Ohio Sires Stakes for 3-year-old pacing colts will be contested Saturday night (June 19), at Eldorado Scioto Downs. The co-featured events have been carded as races five and eight on the program, and both events feature Leg One winners.

Heading up the first division is Four-Star Flash, a Brian Brown trainee that captured his Leg One contest at Miami Valley on May 3 in 1:52.  This son of Western Vintage-Keladi Blue Chip-Bettor’s Delight was bred by Marion Beachy and is owned by Hutchison Harness LLC, Daniel J. Wozniak, David L. Van Dusen and Acadia Farms.  A winner of $99,760, Four-Star Flash has eight wins, one second and two thirds in 15 career starts. This youngster is the second foal out of his dam, Keladi Blue Chip p, 3, 1:56.3f ($18,512) and is a full brother to Diablu Ladi p, 2, 2:07h ($4,718).

Heart Of Chewbacca is the clear standout in the second division. This son of Bring On The Beach-Jt’s Chewbacca-Four Starzzz Shark is conditioned by Ron Burke for Dennis Owens and Norman Rae Racing, and captured his OSS Leg one event handily in 1:51.2.  His last outing—a Scioto overnight—saw him pace to a career best clocking of 1:48.4 with Danny Noble at the lines. Bred by Spring Haven Farm, Heart Of Chewbacca has $276,348 in lifetime earnings from nine wins and three seconds in 12 starts.  This black colt is the second of four foals out of his dam, JT’s Chewbacca p, 3, 1:53.1f ($32,220).
