Nearly lost in the excitement over Palone’s quest and the Super Hi-5 was the big day achieved by Jim Pantaleano, who collected five wins on the program.

In Monday’s feature, a $20,000 Open Handicap Trot, Final Breath attacked the leader, Donatover, down the backside and passed him into the final turn, downing him by 2-1/2 lengths in 1:53.4. Early leader Supergirl Riley finished third.

Tony Hall piloted Final Breath, a 9-year-old Victory Sam-First Breath gelding who now boasts $569,098 in career earnings, for trainer Norm Parker and owner Duane Lowe.
