Pandy’s Picks: July 12 M

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on July 12, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 8-11, Friday, July 12, 2019

I hit the Pick-4 for $1 Saturday night. It returned $369.60 on the $25 total wager. I had three of the winners on top including Lather Up ($14.00) and Rich And Miserable ($10.60). That hit gave me a profit for the championship meet but this year I’ve kept records from Jan. 1. 2019 record, 53 Pick-4s, three winners at $369.60, $107.50 and $27.50, minus $513.90.

Tonight’s tickets:

50-cent play: 45,10/256/567/34 = $27
50-cent play: 45,10/256/567/3 = $13.50

Analysis:

Race 8: (4) Always Bet De Grey and (10) World On Edge appear to be the two most likely winners, but I also used (5) Barimah A, who I think has a chance at a price.

Race 9: This 2-year-old trot could blow up the whole thing. I’m using three — 2, 5, 6. They appear to have talent, hopefully they’ll stay flat.

Race 10: (6) Zlatan is my top pick and he is facing a much softer field than he chased last start. But I’m also using (5) Henderson Seelster and (7) On The Ropes.

Race 11: (3) Change Stride N looks tough to beat with the driver change to Gingras, but on one ticket, I included (4) Stormont Czar A, who made my list of horses to watch after rallying strongly from an impossible spot in an amateur driver race.
