Pick-6 carryover grows into Friday’s card at Yonkers

Yonkers, NY — A couple of upsets during the Pick-6 sequence — one by 13-1 shot Checkered Past (Jordan Stratton) in race three and another by 9-1 offering Bronskimackenzie A (Todd McCarthy) in race seven — led to the elusive wager not being hit on Thursday night (April 1) at Yonkers Raceway.

As a result, there will be a carryover of $4,002.80 on Friday night’s (April 2) program. The Pick-6, which has a takeout rate of 20 percent, will kick off in race three.

Friday night’s 10-race card at Yonkers features two fourth-leg divisions of the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series for pacing mares, carded as races two and three. Leg one winner Blue Ivy (post five, Tyler Buter/Todd Buter) heads the first section, and in the second flight, Machnhope (post four, Andrew McCarthy/Noel Daley), a two-time victor in the event, returns from a one-week break to battle with Snobbytown (post three, George Brennan/Ron Burke), who scored in Matchmaker action a week ago.

Post time at Yonkers Raceway is 7:15 p.m.
