Propulsion wins Müller Memorial

Swedish-owned Propulsion was back in action at Jägersro Saturday afternoon (Oct. 27) in the classic Müller Memorial and won in a very impressive style for regular driver Ôrjan Kihlström.

Propulsion wins easily to possibly end his 2018 campaign. Kanal 75 photo.

Propulsion had not raced since he won the UET Masters Final in September, and in fact trainer Daniel Redén had no intention to race the 7-year old trotter more in 2018.

However, Propulsion looked marvelous back at the farm and Redén decided to race him at Jägersro.

And what a performance Propulsion put on in the 1-/5-8 mile event. He took an early lead and was never threatened and won handily in 1.56.4f (mile rate) and Kihlström had a ton of horse past the post.

“This was a very good performance from Propulsion,”  Redén said. “We now must rethink our plans with him – we could opt to go to France for the Wintermeeting now.”

Another top trotter, who we most likely not will see many times in the Wintermeeting at Vincennes is the French horse Aubrion du Gers.

As a gelding he is excluded from the big races like the B-races leading up to the Prix d’Amerique including this race and the Prix de France.

Aubrion du Gers, who is trained and owned by Jean Michel Bazire, raced Friday in the final in the Tour Europeen for French trotters at Mons in Belgium and won very easily for Jos Verbeeck.

Next year Aubrion du Gers might be headed to the Elitlopp in Stockholm and Bazire is also open to race the gelding in the International Trot at Yonkers.
