Propulsion wins Olympic Trot in Sweden

Mölndal, Sweden — 8-year old trotter Propulsion driven by Ôrjan Kihlström won the Olympic Trot at Aby in Sweden Saturday (April 27) afternoon in a very impressive way.

Though he was forced to go three-wide at the beginning of the race and later found a place outside leading Cyber Lane driven by Johan Untersteiner, Propulsion left the field going around the last turn and won easily on a sloppy track in 1.54 (mile rate) followed by Handsome Brad of Sweden and Bahia Quesnot of France.

The purse for the winner was 155,000 dollars.

In France, Aubrion du Gers driven by Jean Michel Bazire was the 1/5 favorite in the Criterium de Vitesse at the Argentan track in Normandy.

9-year old Aubrion du Gers, who raced for the first time ever over the mile, won in 1:58.2, but only 1/2-length in front of Billie de Montfort driven by Eric Raffin.

Aubrion du Gers has been invited to race in the Elitlopp.
