Ready Cash and Bold Eagle dominate French yearling sale

On the French trotting scene, it’s all about Ready Cash and at the Osarus Sale at Vincennes Thursday evening (Aug. 23), the highest price was paid for a son of Ready Cash, Hety du Goutier, who was sold for 100,000 Euros or $115,000.

A filly by Ready Cash, Hevilla Montaval, sold for 80,000 Euros or $92,500, which also was the price for a colt, Hacker Speed, sired by Bold Eagle (he sired by Ready Cash).

At European horse sales it is rather common that a breeder will buy his yearling back if he is not satisfied with the price. Just half the yearlings who were presented at the sale Thursday evening were sold.

The highest price for a buy-back yearling was 140,000 Euros or $162,000, for a filly, Hot Girl Bourbon, sired by Bold Eagle and out of a mare who is a half-sister to Brillantissime, another Ready Cash son, who now is a very popular stallion.

The average price for 41 sold yearlings was 21,159 Euros or $24,500. That was down 14.5 percent compared to the sale last year.
