Greenville, OH — Revised race conditions and purse updates for the Great Darke County Fair’s upcoming three-day meet are as follows. The meet runs Friday (Aug. 20), Saturday (Aug. 21) and Thursday (Aug. 26). All three nights have a 6:30 p.m. start time.

The OCRA Colt Stakes will be featured on Friday and Saturday night on opening weekend. Thursday night will feature the Gene Riegle Memorial Open Pace and the Arnie Almahurst Open Trot. The Gene Riegle will be one dash for $35,000. The Arnie Almahurst will be one dash for $22,000. The undercard will be the Parshall Memorial Stakes which will have record purses this year with the 2-year-old pace racing for a total purse of $30,000.

Grandstand is free on Friday and Saturday night. Thursday night there will be a $3 general admission charge with the first 1,000 paid tickets receiving a commemorative Gene Riegle Memorial derby style glass.

Also, on Riegle night we will be bringing back the tradition of the Greenville Municipal band which will feature a 35-member orchestra playing live in the grandstand like days gone by.
