Robintheatm ‘steals’ the win at Buffalo Raceway

Hamburg, NY – Robintheatm came flying through the passing lane and ‘stole’ the victory in Buffalo Raceway’s $10,200 Class A-Open Handicapped Pace for the ladies on a raw Wednesday night (April 21).

After seeing her four-race win streak abruptly end last week, Robintheatm (Jim Morrill Jr.) was bumped up in class and that didn’t stop her from beginning a new victory run.

Wonderful World (Mike Baumeister) showed the way through the opening three panels with splits of :28.3, :56.1 and 1:27.3 over the sloppy track. But turning for home, she called it a night while the closers started to make their surge to the finish line.

Robintheatm ($5.70), who got the pocket trip, proved to be the quickest of all and got up for the 3/4-length victory in 1:58.1 while Yankee Secret (Ray Fisher Jr.) took second and Ellieonthemove (Kevin Cummings) finished in third.

Owned by Mike Torcello and trained by Gerry Sarama, it was the fifth win in seven outings for the 9-year-old mare Robintheatm (Nuclear Breeze-Robin The Bank). The victory moved her seasonal earnings to $18,929 and $172,262 lifetime.

Cummings, Morrill Jr., Billy Davis Jr. and David McNeight II all had two driving wins on the program while Sarama had a training double.

Racing will resume on Saturday (April 24) night with an 11-race card scheduled for 6 p.m. There will be a $4,000 guaranteed pool in the Pick-5 which begins in the second race.
