Rock N’ Roll Jet scores in Rosecroft Open

Ft. Washington, MD — When Kim Vincent moved Rock N’ Roll Jet into a second over position heading to the half, you had a feeling the favorite was in prime position to fulfill that role perfectly on Sunday (Nov. 4) at Rosecroft.

Pacesetter Hickory Aloha (Timmy Offutt) was terrific on the front end, but Vincent’s perfect drive gave Rock N’ Roll Jet his sixth win of the year at the wire in 1:52 to win the $12,000 Open Pace. Buddy Bright trains and co-owns the 9-year old Rocknroll Hanover gelding with Dawn Webb. All The Cookies (Tyler Davis) did the heavy lifting first over and finished third.

Allan Davis had three wins on the night. He launched Rock The Town to an upset win in the opener paying $32.00 for owner Eric Good and trainer Gary Simpson. Two races later, Bettormeboy, claimed for $4,000 by owner-trainer Brian Tomlinson at Shenandoah Downs, found his first win for his new barn as Davis rallied him three-wide in 1:55.4 and paid $11.40 for his backers. Putnams Storm (Jonathan Roberts) was second and Going The Distance (John Gazzerro) was third. Davis completed the hat trick getting Good and Simpson a second win with Regalanthropist ($5.80) in 1:53.1.

Blownoutofthewater ($5.00) and Ricky Still were parked through the first half-mile, but cleared going to the three-quarter mark and held off a fast closing BWT Taj (Frank Milby) and Skyway Cobra (John Wagner) in 1:55.1 for Midsize Construction Inc. The win in the $9,000 featured trot was his sixth of the year in 21 starts.

Leading driver Russell Foster posted a driving double, winning with favored Owens Spirit in 1:57. It was the second win in seven starts this year for the 3-year-old son of Rusty’s All In. The gelding is owned by Callahan Family Farms and trained by Robin Callahan.

Foster captured the ninth race with Yankee Artillery ($8.60) who won for the second time in three local starts for trainer Greg Trotto who co-owns with Fred Sporrer, Jeff Livingston and the VIP Internet Stable.
