Rock N’ Roll Jet scores on Sunday at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — On a cold Sunday night (Nov. 11) at Rosecroft Raceway, Rock N’ Roll Jet and Kim Vincent looked like a speeding meteorite in the final quarter-mile.

The 9-year-old son of Rocknroll Hanover sailed three-wide just before the three-quarter pole and blasted home in :27.1 to win in 1:50.4 for trainer and co-owner Buddy Bright and Dawn Webb.

Rocktavious (Jonathan Roberts) cleared early leader Rock The Town (Tyler Davis) just after the opening quarter, but the lead was brief, as just past the half, favorite All The Cookies (Russell Foster) cleared, but was under attack from JW Renegade (John Mackinnon). His lead lasted the length of the backstretch as Vincent sent his charge three-wide and beat his main adversary Al’s Hammered (Allan Davis) to the wining move. Rock N’ Roll Jet, who won last week’s Open, paid a savory $11.60, $5.40, and $6.00.

Foster posted three wins, as BA Rocket ($2.40), a recent purchase for owner-trainer Brian Callahan, won for the third time in four starts for his new barn.

Foster also won with B Fast Eddie ($10.00) in a race marred by an accident as favorite Stellar City made a break on the lead at the five-eighths pole and threw driver Jason Thompson. Thompson sat out race seven while under evaluation from medical personnel, but resumed driving in race eight.

Tom’s Tarzan rounded out the Foster hat trick for new owners Jeff Beauchamp and Ron Short for trainer Brian Wright.

Allan Davis posted two wins, each posting handsome win prices. Captain Jeremiah paid $23.00 and San Antony-O pulled an 11-1 upset in the claiming finale for owner-trainer Eric Davis. The latter, a 13-year-old, won for the 59th time in his career.

Captain Jeremiah was one of two wins for owner Howard Birney and trainer Walter Birney Jr. The second came from Laurent Hanover, who was catch driven to victory by Timmy Offutt who replaced Thompson while he was being checked out. Offutt had a double as he won with Gerald Kelly’s classy trotting mare Brilliance Hanover.
