Rockyroad Hanover sold to Ohio interests

It has been announced by the owners that Cane Pace and Progress Pace winner Rockyroad Hanover has been sold to racing interests in Ohio and that the colt will return to race in 2022.

Rockyroad Hanover is by Captaintreacherous out of the American Ideal mare Romantic Moment. He is owned by Riverview Racing, Brad Grant, Ken Jacobs, and Plouffe Head and VJ Stable. He was bred by Hanover Shoe Farms and was a $65,000 yearling purchase at the Standardbred Horse Sale.

The new owners are Eurostall SE of Berlin, Ohio. The sale price for the colt was not disclosed. JC International of Auckland, New Zealand, brokered the deal.

Rockyroad Hanover is trained by Tony Alagna and will remain in his stable for the next year.

Rockyroad Hanover ended his 2021 season on a high note with a decisive victory in the $310,000 Progress Pace in 1:49.3. He also took his lifetime mark of 1:48.1 in winning the Triple Crown $276,150 Cane Pace.

As a 2-year-old, Rockyroad Hanover made just three starts with one win in 1:53.1. He has career earnings of $595,134.
