Rodney Pinske, 73, dies

Columbus, OH — Rodney Pinske, 73, of Buffalo, Minn., died Nov. 4, 2021, in Cambridge, Minn.

Services will be Nov. 13, 2021, at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. and funeral at 11 a.m.

He was born Jan. 13, 1948, in Glencoe, Minn., son of the late Robert and Janet Pinske. His family was involved in racing horses at the county fairs when he was growing up.

As an adult, Mr. Pinske walked many roads. He trained horses for Bill Zendt in Pennsylvania for several years. He returned to Minnesota and worked as a welder, a trade he had studied years earlier. He also spent many years as an over the road truck driver.

After retiring from truck driving, he spent his winter months in Florida at his family’s Southern Oaks Training Center. He spent his mornings in the Erv Miller Stable. In the afternoons he was always available to help his brother Tim and nephew Carter, along with farm manager Ron Southall, with whatever was needed on the farm.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tim; and his nephews, John and Brian. He is survived by his wife, Celia; daughter, Carrie Milster; son, Michael Traxler; stepsons, Richard (Mary) Clark and Jeremy (Kristine) Clark; sister, Patricia (Paul) Broat; sister-in-law, Marlys; nephew, Karl (Melissa); great-nephews, Carter (Makenna) and Mitchell; great-nieces, McKenna (Zach Barton) and Jaelynn; uncles, E.J. (Arlene) and Tom (Olive); aunt, Lois Person; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many members of Celia’s family along with many cousins and friends.
