Rosecroft announces post time changes

Fort Washington, MD — Sunday and Wednesday’s 15-race cards at Rosecroft have necessitated a change in post time at the lightning fast five-eighths-mile oval.

Sunday’s card, which features two divisions of the Maryland Sire Stakes for 4- and 5-year-old pacers, will get underway at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday’s 15-race card with a heavy dose of fillies and mares events will commence at 6:55 p.m.

With an overflowing entry box, Director of Operations Lisa Watts gave the green light to add more races in an effort to get as many horses raced as possible.

“We offer plenty of wagering opportunities including a 50-cent Pick-5 wager beginning in the second race with an industry low 12 percent take out, two 50-cent Pick-4s on races eight and 12, and three 50-cent Pick-3s for those multiple race wagering enthusiasts.”

Wednesday night’s opener saw perennial leading driver Frank Milby visit the winner’s circle three times to pick up where he left off in the COVID-19 pandemic shortened spring meet last March. Sean Bier, Eddie Davis Jr., and Jon Roberts each tallied two victories apiece. Young Luke Hanners teamed up with Joseph Eisenhower Sr. to light up the toteboard in back-to-back races, paying $41.80 and $67.60 to win, giving Eisenhower the early lead in the trainer standings.

Rosecroft will race every Wednesday and Sunday night until Dec. 23.
