Scirocco Rob scores at Dover
November 12, 2019,Dover, DE — Scirocco Rob was a wire-to-wire winner in the $25,000 Open Trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday (Nov. 12).
Despite facing facing brisk winds and freezing temperatures, Scirocco Rob left alertly, cut the mile and won in 1:55.1 in line to Dexter Dunn. Lagerfeld sat the pocket and had every chance to go by the winner, but could not and settled for a second-place finish for Victor Kirby. Home’n Dry stayed on the rail and brushed in the stretch to finish a non-threatening third.
Mark Silva trains Scirocco Rob, a 4-year-old Explosive Matter gelding, for Lewis Whitaker Jr. and Kathleen Whitaker.
