Shehan, Karl take titles at Oak Grove

Georgetown, KY — With the inaugural meet in the books for the newest race track in Kentucky, Oak Grove Racing & Gaming, driver Tyler Shehan and trainer Aleksandra Karl reigned as the leaders.

Shehan, who lives in Hopkinsville, Ky., just 20 minutes from the racecourse, steered 16 of his 69 drives to the winner’s circle. He also finished with 11 seconds and 14 thirds for a .388 UDR. Ridge Warren came in behind Shehan with 12 driving wins.

Karl from Crete, Ill., ended the meet with a .700 UTR, winning 7 of 10 starts in the 12 days of racing.

Oak Grove is set to begin their 2020 race meet on Oct. 14 with 16 days of live racing. Their facilities are scheduled to be completed by then, including building out the covered equestrian center along with an outdoor amphitheater, hotel, gaming facility, restaurants, grandstand/ballroom, and an RV Park.
