Silva wins convincingly in GSY Series

East Rutherford, NJ — Mark Silva took down the GSY Series event on Saturday night (Nov. 2) at The Meadowlands.

As the starter said go, several horses in the pacing amateur event went for the lead.  It wasn’t until after the quarter pole under some urging that Mark Silva got his horse, Da Magician to the lead and never looked back.  Roy Marohn driving The Dark Shadow sat the pocket until the stretch but then fell out of contention.

He was able to overcome all challengers en route to a two-length victory.   Dave Yarock, who picked up the catch drive on Real Kid, got up for second at long odds and Born To Be Bad, the second choice in the wagering, driven by Hannah Miller skimmed the pylons to finish third, in a photo with several other horses. The race went in 1:53.2.

Silva owns, trains and drives the “Magician.”
The third leg of this GSY pacing series will continue next weekend at the Big M. Post time is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
