Sizzling Tetrick rolls a seven at Harrah’s Philly

Chester, PA – Driver Tim Tetrick continued his blistering form at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Wednesday (Nov 20) afternoon, winning seven of the day’s 12 races, to give him 22 victories during the last four cards in which he participated locally.

Six of Tetrick’s seven wins came on the front end, which went 10-for-12 on the day, but his win in the $16,000 co-featured trot with Grapple Hanover, did not. The Andover Hall gelding was a pocket rocket in catching front-stepping Choco Charlie by 1¼ lengths while taking a new mark of 1:56.4 for trainer Bucky Angle and owners Howard and Joshua Kauffman.

Tetrick moved Missile Seelster to the lead past the stands in the $16,000 co-featured pace, but Cecil Casanova, who had had early command, made a quick brush at the half for driver Scott Zeron to control the throttle and then withstand Missile Seelster by 1¾ lengths in 1:53.4 for his second straight win. Peter Foley trains the Ponder sophomore gelding for All Star Racing Inc.

The public was aware that Tetrick and just about whomever he drove might be tough to beat; all seven of his winners were favored. However, the crowd was not attuned to the chances of the Deweycheatumnhowe gelding One Direction, who took his field on the engine by 3 3/4 lengths for Pat Berry in 1:56.1 – and returned $195.80 for a $2 win ticket.

Two Jackpot Hi-5 players, however, filled tickets behind the mega-long-shot with the right favorites, so that the 7-8-3-5-2 winning combination was not on a unique ticket, bringing the Jackpot Hi-5 carryover to $7009.65 for the Thursday card.
