Humboldt, IA — Ten fields of Iowa-Registered 3-year-olds took to the track at Humboldt in the last day of racing before next weekend’s Iowa Fair Racing Championships on Sept. 22 and 23.

Top pacers Minnie Vinnie and SB Angelindisguise each won their divisions of the 3-year-old pace.

Will Roland gave Minnie Vinnie an easy 2:00.3 mile. The Curtis Carey trained Millionaire Cam gelding eased off the gate, settling into sixth in a six-horse field. The pair were second up at the half and first-up at the three-quarters in 1:31.4. Coming into the head of the stretch Roland let Minnie Vinnie loose and he paced away to win for owners Jeff Carey, Jesse DeLong, Rick Huffman and Larry Mather.

SB Angelindisguise also picked up a win. Piloted by Adam Hauser, the Iowa-sired Sneaky B Skipalong gelding posted a wire-to-wire win, cruising home more than 18 lengths ahead of the nearest competition. SB Angelindisguise paced the fastest mile of the day on his home track, 1:56.3, for trainer Mark Mintun and owners Mintun, Stephanie Gould and Bigshow Racing Stable.

A Mark Mintun trained Sneaky B Skipalong progeny driven by Adam Hauser was a winning combination in another wire-to-wire trip in the first division of the 3-year-old filly pace. Sneakydontfailme bettered her record to seven wins in 15 starts in a 2:00.3 performance out-pacing Lippy Doo who had just come off a second place finish in the $40,000 Minnesota Sires Stakes. Sneakydontfailme is owned by Mintun and Stephanie and Justin Gould.

JJ Muffet and Will Roland loosen-up down the stretch before her 1:58 mile.

The second division of 3-year-old pacing fillies went to Scott Smith trainee JJ Muffet. The Iowa-sired Relentless Yankee filly hadn’t seen the winner’s circle since Aug. 3 in a 2:00.3 win at Sioux Center, her best mile to date. With Will Roland manning the reins, JJ Muffet shot off the starting gate to take the top. She reached the quarter in :28.4. Staying steady and strong, the filly raced on the front, powering through the stretch and conquering each turn in a 1:58 mile, a new lifetime mark, for owner Bernard Nanke.

The two points leading colts didn’t disappoint in their respective divisions of the 3-year-old trot. The American Native son Hotrod Richard won the first division with Will Roland in the bike. Trained by Rick Huffman, the chestnut gelding sped home in 2:03.3, more than 14 lengths ahead of the nearest competitor. Hotrod Richard is owned by Rick and CD Huffman, Larry Mather and Jeri Roland.

The second division of trotting colts was another effortless win for top trotter Scramble Camp. Trained and driven by Dan Roland, the Iowa-sired Weight Lifter gelding improved his record to 15 wins in 16 starts in a 2:03 mile with a blistering :29 last quarter on the county fair track. Scramble Camp is owned by Jeri Roland, Robert Davis, CD Huffman and Larry Mather.

The only horse undefeated in Iowa-Registered company of any age, sex or gait maintained her royalty status in the lone field of 3-year-old trotting fillies. Ima Juggernaut again bested the colts in the fastest trot of the day, 2:02.3, with Dan Roland in the bike. The powerhouse Mark Mintun trained Lou’s Legacy filly goes into the final as the horse to beat. Ima Juggernaut is owned by Mintun and Stephanie Gould.
