Freehold, NJ — Little Brown Jug winner Southwind Ozzi will prepare for a trip to the Breeders Crown by qualifying at Freehold Raceway on Friday morning (Oct. 11).

Southwind Ozzi, trained by Freehold-based Bill MacKenzie and owned by Vincent Ali Jr. and Alma Iafelice, is coming off a second-place finish in a Tattersalls Pace division at Red Mile on Oct. 6. In addition to his Jug victory, he won the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes final and the Adios earlier in the year. He’s won nine races from 12 starts in 2019, while bankrolling $804,435.

He will qualify by himself on Friday morning, at approximately 11:20 a.m. Steve Smith will be the driver. Freehold will live-stream the qualifier on their Facebook page, starting at around 11:15 a.m.

Following the qualifier, Freehold will conduct a ten-race pari-mutuel program, beginning at 12:30 p.m. There will also be a non-betting race at 12:15 p.m.
