Standardbreds at Equine Affaire

Columbus, OH — Equine Affaire, will be held Thursday-Sunday (April 12-15) at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus. The USTA, Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association and New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program have once again worked together to showcase the Standardbred.

The USTA/OHHA booth in the Voinovich Breed Pavilion will include a petting stall where people can get up close to some of our fantastic ex-racehorses. The New Vocations booth will also be in Voinovich, on the backside of the USTA/OHHA booth.

Multiple horses will be used for demonstrations held throughout the weekend:

Thursday (April 12) – 4:30 p.m. – Breed Demonstration (Coliseum)
Friday (April 13) – 10:45 a.m. – In-Hand Demonstration (Celeste Center)
Friday (April 13) – 5:00 p.m. – Breed Demonstration (Rod’s Covered Arena)
Saturday (April 14) – 2:45 p.m. – In-Hand Demonstration (Celeste Center)
Saturday (April 14) – 4:00 p.m. – Breed Demonstration (Rod’s Covered Arena)
Sunday (April 15) – 12:30 p.m. – Breed Demonstration (Coliseum)

Equine Affaire hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday – Saturday; show hours on Sunday are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Single day admission tickets are $15 for adults. For more information, visit www.equineaffaire.com.

Since 1996, the Standardbred Equine Program (SEP) has worked with owners of off-the-track Standardbreds to educate the general public about the many disciplines Standardbreds excel at once they are retired from racing.
