Columbus, MN — Running Aces management has announced that the 2021 Steve Wiseman Memorial Trot, which will feature a $17,500 purse, will be held on the Sunday (Aug. 22) harness racing program.

The night will not only be dedicated to the memory of Wiseman, but will also be tied in to the Twin-Cities kickoff of the Colon Cancer Coalition’s “Get Your Rear In Gear” fundraising campaign, which culminates with a 5K Run/Walk at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Richfield, Minn., on Sunday (Aug. 29).

There will be special race packages available for purchase for $20 (including race programs, food coupon and racing and casino bets) on the night of the Wiseman event, and there will also be special Steve Wiseman shirts available for purchase and all proceeds from both the race packets and the shirts will go to benefit the CCC.

The memorial race itself will be an Open Handicap Trot event, and will feature a blanket presentation in the winner’s circle. In addition to the feature purse for the Wiseman Memorial race, both the Open Handicap Pace (Aug. 24) and the Fillies & Mares Open Handicap Pace (Aug. 26) will also feature a $17,500 purse during the week of the “Get Your Rear In Gear” and Wiseman night events.
