Lexington, KY — Tattersalls has finalized dates for its next two auctions at the Meadowlands.

The Spring Mixed Sale is first up, with a date of Sunday, April 28, followed by the Summer Mixed on July 14–the Sunday after Meadowlands Pace night.

Entries are now being accepted for the spring sale. Those planning to consign horses may enter on the Tattersalls website, tattersallsredmile.com, or by calling sale headquarters at (914) 773-7777. Entries will close Monday, April 8.

“I’m expecting a good turnout of sellers for the Spring Mixed,” said sale manager David Reid. “This sale gives horsemen a chance to control their inventory, as their 2-year-olds will soon be moving north.”

With all the major tracks open by sale time, and two recent purse increases at the Meadowlands, Reid said the current shortage of racehorses would no doubt put them at a premium.

“This sale creates a market for both buyers and sellers, and I think it’s a fair trade for both,” he added.
