Team Snyder’s Aetos Kronos beats Ecurie D in Sweden

Team Snyder’s Aetos Kronos with Magnus A. Djuse in the bike sprang a surprise in the Solvalla Grand Prix for 4-year-old trotters at Solvalla Friday night (Nov. 27), beating the heavy favorite, Ecurie D with Björn Goop.

Aetos Kronos (sired by Bold Eagle) followed Ecurie D, who was parked outside the leader Power with Robert Bergh, until the middle of the stretch. Then Djuse made his move, and Aetos Kronos went by Ecurie D to win by a head in 1:55.1f (mile rate). The distance was 1-5-16th miles.

Aetos Kronos, who is trained by Jerry Riordan, picked up the winner’s purse of $35,000.

Ecurie D has been “the talk of the town” in European harness racing this year. He has only raced 10 times lifetime, and this was his second defeat. The first came in the Aabergs Memorial in July, where Ecurie D met some of Europe’s best open class trotters.
