The Cuse Is Loose, Trendy Kim win Saratoga co-features

Saratoga Springs, NY — A pair of $9,000 co-features highlighted the ten-race card on Wednesday night (Aug. 7) at Saratoga Casino Hotel. On an evening in which there were a handful of big longshots that prevailed, one of the features saw a 9-1 upset.

The Cuse Is Loose (Deweycheatumnhowe) pulled first-over on the two favorites in his division of the feature for New York sired trotters and the 5-year-old Andy Byler trainee cruised right past his rivals. The Cuse Is Loose secured the upset by stopping the timer in 1:59.1 to record his third win of the year. Brian Cross piloted the Byler-trained trotter to the victory in which he paid $20.20 to win.

The faster of the features went the way of Trendy Kim (Conway Hall). The 3-year-old filly had regular reinsman Bruce Aldrich Jr. driving for trainer Darren Rybka Jr. Rybka acquired the sophomore trotter last month and rattled off three wins in his first four starts with her.

On Wednesday, Trendy Kim was the 7-5 betting favorite as she went coast-to-coast in 1:58.4 to continue her winning ways. It was her first victory in the winners of two but not more than five condition in which she competed on Wednesday.
