Two American trotters, Propulsion and Milligan’s School, are entered in the Grand Prix d’Amerique at Vincennes Sunday (Jan. 26). A field of 18 trotters from five countries will race for a total purse of 900,000 Euros.

Propulsion, who is trained by Daniel Redén, will have his fourth start in a row in the Prix d’Amerique. He was fourth in 2017, third in 2018 and fifth last year. Propulsion will as usual have Ôrjan Kihlström in the bike.

Stefan Melander’s Milligan’s School with Anthony Barrier will race for the first time in France. Milligan’s School is sired by Yankee Glide, who also is the sire of Italian bred Vivid Wise As.

Other American-bred stallions who are represented in the race are Adrian Chip (Vitruvio) and Classic Photo (Ringostarr Treb).

The home team is led by the 5-year old Face Time Bourbon with Björn Goop. Face Time Bourbon is one of four trotters in the race trained by Sebastian Guarato.

This year marks the 100th year anniversary of the inaugural Prix d’Amerique; however, it is only the 98th time it will be raced. During World War II the race was canceled in 1940 and 1941.
