In the evening’s 15th race, a 2-year-old colt and gelding trot for a purse of $6,900, Timestorm fired off the gate and went straight to the lead.  Driver John Moody sat chilly in the bike for both laps, as the team never experienced an anxious moment throughout the mile.

Timestorm (Stormin Normand – Tymal Sonata) was charted as a length in front at the opening quarter of :28.3.  The lead expanded to 10 lengths by the :57.2 half-mile clocking.  Timestorm maintained his 10-length lead through the 1:26.4 three-quarters time.  He opened-up by three more lengths in the final quarter, winning by 13 over Klubot (Marty Wollam) in 1:56.4.

The previous 1:57 record was set by freshman gelding trotter Rose Run Spanky and Josh Sutton in 2016.

Timestorm remains undefeated through six career starts for owner Ted Boschma of South Lyon, MI and trainer Kent Hess.  The victory increased his earnings to $27,167.  Timestorm was the race favorite and returned $4.60 to win.
