Track records fall on two consecutive weeks at Kentucky fairs

Georgetown, KY — Track records fell on two consecutive weeks at the Kentucky fairs.

Delight Kate took full advantage of the dry, warm June 13 day at the Ballard County Fairgrounds. She blasted out of the gate and snatched control of the field of fillies and held off all of her rivals to win in a new track record time of 1:59.4. No other horse has eclipsed the 2:00 mark at the track in Lacenter, Ky.

The 3-year-old daughter of McArdle is owned and trained by Pasko Vucinaj and was driven by Tyler Shehan. She was bred by Walnut Hall Stock Farm.

The following week at the McCracken County Fair, Tamylufrmtimbuckto got back to her winning ways by putting away her rivals to win by 27-1/2 lengths. The 3-year-old daughter of Hypnotic Blue Chip cleared the field from post two and increased her lead throughout the race. She stopped the clock in an impressive time of 1:57, breaking the track record at the Paducah fair track.

She was bred by James Schulte, is owned and trained by Barkley Counts, and was steered to victory by Geremy Bobbitt.

The Kentucky Fair Stakes continues Tuesday (July 2) at the Marion Country Fairgrounds in Lebanon. Post timer will be 6 p.m. (EDT).
