Columbus, OH — A number of notable trainers and stables in the Goshen, N.Y., area have volunteered to assist in the “hands-on” education that will be part of the 2012 USTA Standardbred Driving School, including Mark Ford, whose training center will be host to some of the school’s events.

This is the first time that the Driving School will be held in Goshen where all activities will take place at the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame, the Goshen Historic Track and the Mark Ford Training Center.

Mark Ford’s training center will host some of the school’s events.

“Our stable is looking forward to helping with this great program,” said Ford. “Moving the school to the central New York area and emphasizing the daily barn work will make it more attractive for a lot of people.”

Joining the Mark Ford Stable will be the Ray Schnittker Stable, Scott Blackler Stable, Tyler and Amber Buter Stable, Jean Drolet Stable, Rob and Patty Harmon Stable, Chris Marino Stable and Brandon Simpson Stable.

The 2012 edition of the USTA Standardbred Driving School will be conducted May 30–June 3. Classroom instruction will be held at the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame with all stable work taking place at the Mark Ford Training Center and Goshen Historic Track.

This is a once in a lifetime, hands-on experience for anyone interested in owning, trainer or driving Standardbreds, or for any fan of harness racing.

Enrollment is limited, so interested parties are urged to sign up as soon as possible while there is still space available.
