Triple Pick-5 carryover at Freehold Friday

Freehold, NJ — No one has been able to solve the puzzle of the Pick-5 at Freehold Raceway for three racing days, so there will be a big carryover into the sequence this Friday (Sept. 13). Bettors can look forward to a carryover of $7,307.55.

The sequence begins in race five, with an approximate post time of 1:30 p.m. (EDT), and all five races have full fields of eight. The bet has a minimum wager of 50 cents.

The feature of the sequence is in the seventh race, the Preferred Handicap Trot. This race pits Dot Dot Dot Dash, who has won the Preferred six times in 2019 at Freehold, against Zagster, coming from the Great Northeast final at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, as well as sharp Yonkers invader Mississippi Storm.

Earlier in the program, Freehold will feature the second leg of the New Jersey Sire Stakes-Standardbred Development Fund for 2-year-old male trotters. A field of five will square off in the first division, which will be contested as a non-betting race. Trickydickson and Sloanie, who finished second and third, respectively, in the first leg, headline that division.

The marquee match-up will be in the second division, which will go as the third race. Play Trix On Me, who swept the NJSS at The Meadowlands over the summer, figures to be a heavy favorite for the Linda Toscano barn. Barley, who won the first leg of the SDF last week for Nifty Norman, figures to be his toughest rival in the field of six.

The first of 11 races at Freehold on Friday will be at 12:30 p.m. (EDT).
