TW Lauxmont repeats, takes Philadelphia trotting feature

Chester, PA — Pocono invader TW Lauxmont rallied up the inside and made it two straight with a 1:54.3 win in Thursday afternoon’s (July 30) $13,600 featured trot at Harrah’s Philadelphia.

Trainer-driver Tom Jackson put the Oh So White gelding in play early to secure the pocket behind favored Grapple Hanover, who overcame post eight to put up fractions of :27.2, :56.3 and 1:24.4. At the three-quarter mark, Grapple Hanover was joined by first-over Macmorris Hanover, who battled hard to the lead in the stretch, only to see Jackson rally up the inside with TW Lauxmont and prevail by a neck for owner LCT Stable.

A pair of $11,600 trots for seasoned performers served as sub-featured events.

In one, Max led from the quarter onward and held off a late threat from Tight Lines in 1:53.3. Yannick Gingras drove the Yankee Glide gelding who raised his bankroll to $199,600 for trainer Ron Burke and the Burke Racing Stable LLC, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Frank Baldachino.

The other saw the Muscle Mass gelding Clive Bigsby post his second straight win and lower his record to 1:52.4. Clive Bigsby grabbed the early lead, yielded to Winning Shadow to sit the pocket, then wheeled out an eighth of a mile from home and easily overtook the leader for driver Dexter Dunn, trainer Jim Campbell, and Runthetable Stables while raising his lifetime earnings to $283,450.
