Harrisburg, PA — You’ll have to hurry – there are only two weeks left until the U.S. Harness Writers Association’s annual “Night Of Stars” awards banquet on Sunday, February 25, at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City.

The stars of the sport of harness racing, both human and equine, receive their accolades on this festive evening. Among the honored will be the newest members of the sport’s Hall of Fame – Jimmy Arthur, Wally Hennessey, and Phil Langley – along with Communicators Corner electees Ray Brienza, Marie Hill, Dean Hoffman, and John Manzi.

The 2006 Harness Horse of the Year, honored with the Harriman trophy, will be announced that night, along with Trotter of the Year and Pacer of the Year, plus the several divisional categories where two or more contenders drew at least 15% of the total vote.

Also being recognized will be Jeff Gural, winner of the prestigious Proximity Award; the John Hervey Media Award winners; and the various top horsemen of the previous campaign.

Tickets, priced at $100, are available from Scott Warren by calling (302) 222-1222 or (302) 398-7595. For reservations at the glamorous Borgata, please call 1-877-MY-BORGATA. Any other questions about the gala evening can be addressed to USHWA President Judy Davis-Wilson at zoe8874@aol.com.

The weekend also serves as the annual business meeting for the U.S. Harness Writers Association, a confederation of media personnel united in the coverage of harness racing, with over 250 members in 13 chapters.
