Just like he did in his previous two wins, the 6-year-old Bettor’s Delight gelding received a two-hole trip, stalking pacesetter Late Main N throughout before surging to the lead in the stretch. Sicily was second, while Q’s Cruise finished third.

It was the 16th career win for Wichita Lineman, who is trained by his owner. It was one of five victories on the card for Stafford, two of which were trained by Simpson. Tony Morgan had a driving triple.

Earlier on the card, driver Kim Vincent notched his 1,500th career win in the second race aboard Rock N Roll Jet, who was a 1:54 repeat winner for trainer William Bright. Vincent has spent much of his career racing on the Delaware and Maryland circuits.

Allan Davis had a driving double.
