Zero Tolerance, So Awesome win in NYSS at Saratoga

Saratoga Springs, NY — Sophomore pacing fillies were featured as part of New York Sire Stakes action on Tuesday night (July 30) at Saratoga Casino Hotel. There were two divisions contested and the favorites thrived.

Zero Tolerance (Heston Blue Chip-Feelinglikeastar) continued her dominance in the Sire Stake ranks and wound up as a wrapped-up winner for Hall of Famer David Miller who was in town to drive for trainer Joe Holloway.

Zero Tolerance was the 1-9 betting favorite in her $90,050 division of the NYSS on Tuesday and she made it look easy. Miller moved her out to the early lead and the talented filly cruised to a three length win in 1:53.4 over a track labeled sloppy. JK American Beauty (Jordan Stratton) was the runner-up to the big favorite while Sulky Queen (Bruce Aldrich Jr.) earned the show spot.

The victory was the fourth of the year for Zero Tolerance with all four scores coming in New York Sire Stakes action.

The other division of the NYSS went for a purse of $88,450 and saw So Awesome (So Surreal-Teddy Ballgirl) prevail. Tyler Buter piloted the Scott DiDomenico-trained filly who drew the rail for Tuesday’s tilt.

After coasting through a first half in :57.3, So Awesome cruised home to score in 1:53.4. A Saratoga track record holder from last year’s local Sire Stakes try when she won in 1:53.3, So Awesome proved up to the task in her sophomore season local stakes score. Longshot Hurrikane Norakane (Jordan Stratton) came on for second while DD Delicious (Matt Kakaley) finished third.

So Awesome was the public’s 2-5 betting choice in what was her third win in 10 starts in the ’19 campaign.

Live racing continues on Wednesday night with a first post time set for 7:05 p.m.
