Check status of USTA work, foal registrations online

Columbus, OH — U.S. Trotting Association members are reminded that they can check on the status of foal registrations and other USTA paperwork online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Members can log into their USTA MyAccount and go to the “Work in Progress at the USTA” box on the right side of the screen. Click on the blue link in the Description column (Foal Registration, Individual Membership, etc.) to view “What’s the holdup?”

Some example holdups are:

• Name choices must be reviewed, or no acceptable name choices supplied
• Signed mating certificate was not returned
• The money received is different than calculated price

Mating certificates must be received in the same time frame as the foal registration application and fees in order to receive the appropriate foal registration rate.

If the application and $150 were received within four months, but the mating certificate was not, there will be a $35 late fee, which will be indicated with the description, “The money received is different than calculated price.”

Members can also check on the status of mating certificates in their USTA MyAccount by clicking “Broodmare Activity” in the “My Horses” section on the left side of the USTA MyAccount browser. There will be a ‘Yes’ in the “M.C.Released” column once mating certificates are received in the office or released electronically by the stallion owner. If your mating certificate has not been released, call the stallion owner to make sure it is done before the Dec. 31 deadline.
