Backtrack: Foiled Again’s 2013 Breeders Crown victory
On Oct. 19, 2013, Foiled Again held off all challengers in a furious stretch drive to win the Breeders Crown Open Pace by a nose over Pet Rock in the slop at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono. With the victory, the then 9-year-old gelding became the oldest horse ever to capture a Breeders Crown. John Campbell, Foiled Again kick off Shenandoah’s fall season
Timothy Betts’ Some Fancy Beach stole the show with a dominating 13-1/2 length win Friday (Sept. 13) at Shenandoah Downs as the facility opened its fourth pari-mutuel harness meet. Another highlight of opening day was an appearance by two Hall of Famers — driver John Campbell and legendary horse Foiled Again. Both held a meet and greet with fans then after the seventh race, Campbell put on his racing colors and got in the sulky for the first time since his 2017 retirement. He led Foiled Again, now retired, in a lap around the track.

Foiled Again celebrated at Midwest Horse Fair
The 40th annual Midwest Horse Fair was held Friday-Sunday (April 12-14) in Madison, Wis., at the Alliant Energy Center. While a mix of rain and snow threatened Thursday and Sunday, sunny but windy days did not deter horse enthusiasts from across the country from attending and Standardbred celebrity Foiled Again did not disappoint.
