Toronto, ON — A total of 92 3-year-old pacers have been nominated to the 2008 C$1.5 million Pepsi North America Cup, to be held this summer for the second time at Mohawk Racetrack. The number of nominations is identical to last year’s February sustaining payment.

The North America Cup eliminations will be contested June 7 with the final on June 14.

Heading the list is Canada’s 2007 Co-Horse of the Year and 2-Year-Old Pacing Colt of the Year Somebeachsomewhere. The winner of last year’s Metro Pace, who is based in Truro, Nova Scotia, leads this year’s experimental ratings with a projected time of 1:47.3.

Some of the other high profile colts who have been kept eligible include O’Brien Award finalist Santanna Blue Chip along with Deuce Seelster, Moon Beam and Duneside Perch.

Nomination payments were made on Feb. 15, with sustaining payments due March 15, April 15 and May 15.
