Fort Washington, MD — Allan Davis started off the 2018 racing season in fine fashion, winning three of the first eight races, and guided Too Darn Hot to a win in the $10,000 Open Handicap on Sunday (Feb. 18).
Davis looped Too Darn Hot to lead just past the opening quarter and rolled to an easy victory from there stopping the timer in 1:51.3 for owners Mark Salerno and William Sartin. Joe Hundertpund Jr. trains the 6-year-old son of Rocknroll Hanover who won for the third time in six starts this year.
Davis also won twice with Lewis Nunes trainees, Bells Panacea and Frankie Boy, who is owned by Lomangino Standardbreds.
Russell Foster scored a double with Mister Travel in the first for Eric Foster and long shot Looksgoodhowmuch for trainer Greg Trotto, paying $43.80.
