Washington, PA — Allen “The Sisco Kid” Sisco and longshot Golden Compass seized the early lead and held off the 1-2 favorite, Michael Burke (Tequila Talkin), to pull off the 18-1 shocker in Wednesday’s (Nov. 13) $10,000 Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Burke was bidding for his first win in a purse race in nearly three decades, but Sisco had other ideas.
He dug in when Burke attacked from the pocket and downed him by three-quarters of a length in 1:54.2, matching Golden Compass’ career best. Pete Stratton (Resolute Bay) and Christina Johnson (A Royal Line) completed the ticket.
Sisco trains Golden Compass, a 6-year-old Sebastian K S-Zette Angel gelding who now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $161,372, for Oldford Racing and Allen Sisco Stable.
