Hightstown, NJ — Ariana G joined the Top 10 in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, rising to No. 7 in the rankings following her world-record 1:50.2 win in last week’s Graduate Series championship for 4-year-old trotters. The mare had 11 points in last week’s poll and added 111 this week.
Filibuster Hanover was the only horse from last week’s Top 10 who saw action over the weekend. He finished fifth in the Graduate Series championship for 4-year-old pacers and dropped from No. 9 to unranked in the Top 10.
Six-year-old female trotter Hannelore Hanover continued to hold the No. 1 spot in the poll, as she has all season, but saw 14-year-old male pacer Foiled Again take two first-place votes from her. Foiled Again was rewarded for getting career win No. 100 on Sunday at Harrah’s Philadelphia.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The U.S. Harness Writers Association votes in December on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
