Woodstock, VA — Shenandoah Downs, new home of pari-mutuel harness racing in Virginia beginning September 10th (pending final approval of the Virginia Racing Commission), is in search of a back-up starting gate to base at the track for its inaugural session.
The meet will be held over five consecutive weekends through October 9, with races scheduled every Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The half-mile oval, which recently underwent a $700,000 renovation, is based at the Shenandoah County Fairgrounds. Woodstock is located off I-81 at Exit 283, 40 miles north of Harrisonburg and 38 miles south of Winchester.
Anyone with a starting gate available for the fall campaign can contact Jeb Hannum, Executive Director of the Virginia Equine Alliance (VEA) at (484) 238-6290.
