Saratoga Springs, NY — Trainer Melissa Beckwith posted similar results between the first two days of weekend cards at Saratoga Casino Hotel with a training triple both days, including a win in the $17,000 Winners Over/Open Handicap Trot with Angel Nation on Sunday (June 4).

Brett Beckwith and Angel Nation were parked to the quarter in :28 before assuming control of the field. The pair never looked back as they set the tempo through fractions of :57.2 and 1:26.1 before sailing home to a 6-1/4 length victory in 1:54.4. The Royal Poze (Mitchell Cushing) was second and Bourbon Express (John Stark Jr.) finished third.

William Hartt owns the 6-year-old gelded son of Archangel, who posted his 24th career win, which put him over $378,000 in career earnings.

Melissa Beckwith trainees Chapheart and Ackles Hanover, driven by Brett Beckwith, also won on the matinee card to round out her training triple.

Brett Beckwith closed in on 500 driving wins after also piloting Mr Cool Seaeyre N to victory. The 20-year-old reinsman is now just two away from the milestone.
