Toronto, ON — With four consecutive victories under his belt, including a win in the Little Brown Jug, it’s safe to say that Big Bad John has hit his best stride as he prepares for the Breeders Crown on Oct. 29 at Woodbine Racetrack.
The winner of $976,559, who has a lifetime best of 1:49, recently ripped off a 1:50.1 victory in his most recent outing in a $101,500 Bluegrass Stakes division at The Red Mile, defeating this year’s Pepsi North America Cup winner, Up The Credit.
Trained by Ron Potter for Ed Telle’s Winchester Baye Acres, Big Bad John is driven by David Miller.
“I believe he is (as good right now as he’s ever been),” Potter said. “He was definitely great in Delaware, super both trips. Down here (in Kentucky) Dave (Miller) said he got a little tired at the end of the mile, but it was a tiring mile and he got a pretty rough trip.”
Potter also confirmed that Big Bad John will not race until the Breeders Crown elimination on Oct. 22.
