A share in Prix d’Amerique favorite Bold Eagle has been sold at the Prix d’Amerique-sale at Vincennes for $160,000 The buyer was the Swedish trainer and breeder, Lutfi Kolgjini.
The sale seemed to be a big success as the average price Friday night (Jan. 26) was no less than 40 percent higher compared to last year. This was mainly because some young trotters were entered at the sale to dissolve partnerships.
The most expensive, a 3-year-old filly by Ready Cash named Firefly was hammered down for $273,000. Firefly is a maiden who has raced 11 times and has earned of $32,000.
Her maternal line is very interesting as her dam is a full sister to Qualita Bourbon, the winner of $1.9 million and one of the best horses in her crop.
