French trotting sensation Bold Eagle added 54.000 Euros or $61,000 to his bankroll Monday afternoon (Aug. 22) at Vincennes, and has now won a total of 1,004,500 Euros in 2016 from eight races.
Trainer Sebastian Guarato sent out the 5-year-old trotter in the classic Prix Jockey raced over the 1-11/16th mile distance.
Bold Eagle was soon in command and it was a piece of cake for driver Frack Nivard to guide Bold Eagle to victory number seven in 2016.
Next up for Bold Eagle is the Criterium de 5 Ans on Saturday (Sept. 3) at Vincennes — the biggest race for a French trotter of that age.
It was the first day of the Vincennes Summer meeting and besides Prix Jockey, three Group III races were on the card. They were all won by trotters trained by Philippe Allaire.
Allaire has several of the best 3-year-old trotters in France; in fact the six richest at this time are trained by him.
